I am so glad this movie is not just a rumor like everyone thought. Has anyone seen it? What did you think?

I didn't see it. Did it end up being as cool as the trailer?

The trailer was cool. I saw the movie a couple days ago and.... yeah. Not to spoil anything but, nothing from the trailer is in the actual movie with the exception of the kid. I highly reccommend that you do not see this movie. It was flat out terrible. And I'm not picky when it comes to movies. Rarely will I ever say this about a movie. But this, oh dear. It was the most irritating hour and a half I've ever wasted in my life. If you like a movie where the characters commentate on what they're doing and explain stuff that happened five minutes ago, this is your movie. (The only thing I liked about this movie is how hard Aasif Mandvi from the daily show tried to act serious. He wasn't too bad, actually.) But, yeah. This got way longer than I wanted it to go but I flat out hated this movie. I've never seen the cartoon but there is no way it's that bad. It's got to be better than the movie.

Well I thought the movie was alright. I think there is going to be a sequal though. Since everything doesn't really wrap up all that nicely.

Well yeah but the same thing could be said about Eragon, and that movie turned out to be really horrible.
@Joran: The cartoon can be rather childish, but it has some very excellent story-telling, and some deep character development. It's worth watching.

I remember Eragon. That one was really bad, too. But I can safely say that The Last Airebender was worse, in my opinion. It's good to know that the cartoon actually is worth watching and that there is any character development at all unlike the movie.

By far, there is development. Zuko and Iroh are probably the most developed ones in the series, but everyone gets a piece of the developmental pie, even some minor char. like Jet (won't say who he is, you'll have to watch to find out). The creators kept themselves in check for the series, making sure that every character's thoughts and motives didn't contradict something they may have said or did before.

The only reason i sat through this movie was because i was stuck on a plane for 12 hours and already watched all the other good ones. Such a disgrace to the cartoon. Horrible casting, horrible acting, horrible story telling, very linear....and i was so very looking forward to this ;__;~!

At some points this movie was flat-out painful to watch. But the cinematography, costuming, and a few other points actually made it bearable. Acting was horrendous, however. I wasn't a big fan of the series but I saw it anyway due to my friends wanting to see it. Because of all the reviews I read on it before watching the movie I was mildly surprised because it wasn't AS BAD as I thought it was going to be. That made it somewhat enjoyable.

I think if this movie was made with less dialogue and more focused on the elements as opposed to horrible child actors then it would have been much better, because the story was...there, just needed..something more.
